12 hours per week, 6 hours on Thursday, 6 hours on Friday
£5 797 p.a. (equivalent to £9.29 per hour)
Initially a fixed-term contract from mid-August 2021 to 31st December 2021, with the prospect of a permanent contract from 1st January 2022.
This is an opportunity to join our friendly team at the Community Centre at an exciting time – our kitchen is currently undergoing a substantial refurbishment, and this coincides with the new children’s playground being built in Hutton Recreation Ground right next to the Centre.
Our intention is to expand our café operation to cater for users of this facility as well as the wider community.
The café currently opens from 9 until 2 on weekdays, but we would like to open earlier, close later and also open at weekends in the long term.
We currently have a café supervisor working Monday to Wednesday with a great deal of experience in catering. You will both need to undergo training on the new equipment, and you would initially learn how we currently operate, taking on the supervisory role on the days you are working, whilst preparing and serving hot drinks and light lunches, selling prepacked items such as biscuits, chocolate bars, crisps, etc., cans and bottles of water.

You would ideally have experience in a café/catering setting, with relevant qualifications an advantage although training will be provided where necessary.
You need to be good at dealing with the public.
